#5 October thoughts
Fall is in the air. With the season changing, the temperatures cooling, how do you manage change in your life?
Managing change
Managing change can be challenging, but with the right strategies, you can navigate it more effectively. Here are three strategies to help you take hold of change:
1. Adopt a Growth Mindset: Embrace change as an opportunity for growth rather than a threat. Focus on the potential benefits and learning experiences that change can bring. This positive perspective can help you stay motivated and open to new possibilities.
2. Create a Plan: Develop a structured plan to navigate the change. Identify specific steps you need to take, set achievable goals, and establish a timeline. Having a clear plan can reduce uncertainty and help you feel more in control during the transition.
3. Seek Support and Build a Network: Surround yourself with a support system of colleagues, friends, or mentors who can provide guidance and encouragement. Share your experiences, seek advice, and collaborate with others who are also navigating change. A strong network can help you feel less isolated and more empowered to embrace change.
Environment is everything I have learned! The phrase does say we are most like the five people we around most. So who are you surrounding yourself with?
Are you interested or committed to your self-growth? Are you interested or committed to being able to manage change in your life better? Are you just interested or are you seriously committed to becoming a better version of you?
Find an environment of people who are equally committed to their personal growth and development as a human in today’s society. Not sure where to start? Begin with scrubbing who you follow in your social media. Unfollow the page you constantly find yourself comparing yourself to. Unfollow the page that playfully encourages negative habits that prevent your growth. Instead, follow motivational pages that affirm how great you are! Some of my personal favorites are Mel Robbins, Brendon Burchard, Jaime Villalovos, Ed Mylett, Growth Day, and Tony Robbins to name a few.
For those who are serious to changing your life, get to a life-changing event. Life-changing events can significantly shape our perspectives, behaviors, and overall life trajectories. Events exert their power in that they are catalysts for growth, they shift your perspective, you form new relationships, the environmental impact that fosters growth and motivation, they increase your adaptability, and events can create a legacy in that they can lead to new family traditions and values in your home. If you are serious to creating change for the positive growth of yourself and family, get to a big event. I attend events throughout the year to encourage positive change and growth in my life and my relationships. Next big event is with John Maxwell and Ed Slott (CPA) in San Antonio, Texas.
Breaking through overwhelm and stress
Going through seasons and change can become overwhelming and stressful. Check out these ten effective strategies for breaking through overwhelm and stress:
1. Practice Mindfulness: Engage in mindfulness techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or yoga. These can help you center your thoughts and reduce anxiety.
2. Prioritize Tasks: Break your workload into manageable tasks and prioritize them. Focus on completing one task at a time rather than trying to do everything at once.
3. Set Boundaries: Learn to say no when your plate is full. Protect your time and energy by setting clear boundaries with work and personal commitments.
4. Take Breaks: Schedule regular breaks throughout your day to recharge. Even a short walk or a few minutes of stretching can significantly reduce stress.
5. Declutter Your Space: A tidy workspace can lead to a clearer mind. Organize your physical and digital environments to minimize distractions and chaos.
6. Limit Information Overload: Reduce the amount of news and social media you consume, especially if it feels overwhelming. Curate your information sources to focus on what truly matters.
7. Reach Out for Support: Talk to friends, family, or colleagues about your feelings. Sharing your experiences can provide perspective and reduce feelings of isolation.
8. Engage in Physical Activity: Exercise is a great stress reliever. Find an activity you enjoy, whether it’s walking, dancing, or working out, to release endorphins.
9. Establish a Routine: Create a daily routine that includes time for work, relaxation, and self-care. Having a structured schedule can provide a sense of stability.
10. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself. Acknowledge that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed and give yourself permission to take a step back when needed.
Implementing these strategies can help you manage stress more effectively and regain a sense of control over your life. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help if you need it!
